Assumption: Home of excellent education for women

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Assumption College, the pioneering progressive school for women, continues to prove why it is the school of choice for future leaders. As a testament to the school’s excellence in education, two of its students were recently named to the prestigious Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) for the National Capital Region (NCR).

Making their alma mater proud are Jane Patricia Manalang, who majored in Early Childhood Education, and Criena House, who took up Media Production. Both were named to the elite TOSP-NCR list for their superior academic performance, responsible leadership and active participation in worthwhile co- and extra-curricular activities, as well as their commendable personal values anchored in deep faith in God. Manalang graduated summa cum laude and received the St. Marie Eugenie of Jesus Award, the highest recognition given to Assumption students. House, meanwhile, listed many achievements serving in different campus organizations including the Assumption Community Theatre and Sining at Kultura ng Kabataan para sa Pagbabago (SIKKAP). Along with the other NCR finalists, they will represent the region in the TOSP’s national rankings.

For its committed efforts, the institution is one of only ten institutions in the country with a Five-Year Autonomous status, the highest and most prestigious recognition bestowed by CHED on schools that consistently prove their exemplary performance in providing quality education.
