GMA Kapuso Foundation reaches out to students in need via Cebu Pacific

MANILA, Philippines - Education, a basic children’s right, comes with a challenge especially in the country’s most desolate areas. Fortunately, two industry leaders make it their mission to reach far-flung communities. GMA Kapuso Foundation, the socio-civic arm of the GMA Network, and Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), the country’s largest airline, continuously join forces to touch more Filipino lives.             

Founded in 1990, GMA Kapuso Foundation has been inspiring lives of eager but underprivileged Grade One pupils through their program, Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan (UHSK). Since last year, Cebu Pacific has been helping the foundation provide basic school materials to marginalized children in the provinces that need the most help. Recently, the airline provided free cargo services as the GMA Kapuso Foundation distributed school bags to communities in Siquijor, Surigao and Iloilo.

We hope to help lessen high dropout rate among children in public schools by assisting them with their needs.”
