Camacho a US Presidential Scholar

MANILA, Philippines - US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced recently the selection of 141 outstanding high school seniors as the US Presidential Scholars Class of 2010. They were honored for their accomplishments in Washington, DC. The US Presidential Scholars Class of 2010 include one young man and one young woman from each state, as well as 15 chosen at-large and 20 presidential scholars in the arts.

One of the awardees was 15-year old Martin Camacho of St. Paul, Minnesota. His parents, Godofredo Camacho Jr. and Patricia Ayalde, are US-based alumni of the University of the Philippines. The awardee has been admitted by Harvard College.

Camacho has also been chosen to be part of the USA International Linguistics Olympiad team which will compete in Sweden in July. He will also go to Ohio to be a counselor at the Ross Math Program there.
