DLSU-D gets mobilized through Globe Telecom

MANILA, Philippines - At a time when almost everyone carries their own mobile phones wherever they go, mobile phones are now one of the best communication tools being utilized, be it in corporate or academic settings. Taking advantage of the ease of communication and information access that this mobile revolution offers, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, in partnership with Globe Telecom, launches DLSU-D’s Globe Text Broadcast this 2nd semester of SY 2009-2010.

DLSU-D’s Globe Text Broadcast is a communication tool employed by the Marketing Communications Office (MCO) to provide students, faculty, and staff with latest updates on institutional events and instant advisories via broadcast text messaging, free of charge to Globe and Touch Mobile subscribers. DLSU-D’s Text Broadcast is powered by Globe’s Txt Connect Application, a full featured web-based service that empowers DLSU-D community to broadcast text messages to pre-registered recipients, providing the University an effective and faster means of information dissemination.

Suspension of classes, schedules of enrollment, details on relief efforts or other campus-wide events — these are just some of the announcements that students (using the issued DLSU-D sim), faculty, and staff could receive via SMS through DLSU-D’s Globe Text Broadcast for free. This tool is expected to provide DLSU-D community timely and relevant information concerning the University.
