The source of healing within the conscious mind

(Part 3 of a series on Discovering Mankind’s Incredible Healing Power)

Humanity has been threatened by new and fatal ailments: HIV-AIDS, SARS, H1N1, among others. Land, water and air are very polluted, which causes diseases. We do not realize that the healing power is within each person but we must all be determined to care for the environment.

The seat of your conscious mind – which reasons, analyzes, ponders, and consciously thinks – is located in the front forehead and extends into all the five senses. What you consciously think and deliberately say affect all your mind powers located from the forehead all the way down into the throat area.

Misuse of any of these mind powers brings an almost immediate health reaction in that part of the body. Thus, health problems in the forehead, brain, ears, eyes, nose, or throat area are often caused by your most recent conscious thoughts or by the strong, negative thoughts and words of others directed toward you. Meantime, your present, deliberate, constructive thoughts can begin relieving health problems in these areas of the body.

Beware of marital quarrel

A housewife quarreled with her husband and spoke strong, critical words to him. By misusing her power center located in the throat, within two hours she developed a sore throat and cold which took two weeks for her to recover from.

Negative words affect the entire body, but are prone to produce trouble in the throat area, from where they came; while, happy, life-filled words produce health throughout the body.

The body feeds on man’s words. When those words are life-giving, they are health producing. Every time you speak, you cause the atoms of your body to tremble and change their place. You also affect the bodies of other people with whom you come in contact, just as they do you.

A mother who tells a little child that he looks sick and tired will produce those conditions in the child’s mind and body. If that mother spoke words of health, life, and strength to the child, these words set his bodily functions reacting normally.

Why you should closely control your voice

You should control your voice carefully. It has a far greater effect on your health and nervous system than you ever suspected, even affecting the nerves and health of those about you. It has been observed that words of love, faith, and harmony spoken from the heart enrich the voice, tone up the vocal cords, soothe and heal laryngitis, cleanse and restore the tonsils that may be swollen and diseased.

Declare often: “I SPEAK NO WORDS OF EVIL. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN REPEATING UNPLEASANT WORDS. I FORGIVE THOSE WHO SPEAK EVIL FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO. I SPEAK ONLY GOOD FOR I KNOW THE POWER OF MY WORDS TO CREATE WHATEVER I DECREE.

The “Quiet Complainer”

Sometimes you see power of destructive words work throughout an entire family group. Both husband and wife were “quiet complainers.” They complained about everything, such as their careers, financial affairs, children families, each other, and life in general.

During a routine check-up, the wife learned that she had a malignant growth in her throat and an operation was necessary. Shortly, her husband learned that he, too, had a serious growth in his mouth which also required surgery.

This couple realized afterwards that this surgery was a warning for them to change what they were privately thinking and saying day in and day out, to stop complaining and to start seeing the good in themselves, each other, their marriage, careers, children, family and the world in general. Their deliberate change of words had made a great difference in their health and in their financial and family affairs.

The Power of Encouraging Words

A very ill teenager was placed in a room with two other patients, neither of whom was expected to live. In this depressed atmosphere, he grew weaker and weaker, despite the finest medical treatment. His mother employed the help of all attending her son – his nurses, doctors and hospital attendants – asking that they daily speak encouraging words to him about his recovery. Not only did he recover, but the other two patients in the room also got well!

Later one of these patients told the boy: “Your mother not only talked you back to life, but her words gave me new hope and new life also. Had it not been for your mother’s daily words of encouragement, I believe we would both be dead today.”

The affirmation prayer: “ALL POWER IS NOW GIVEN ME IN MIND, BODY AND AFFAIRS. THE POWER OF GOD IS NOW WORKING TO FREE ME FROM EVERY NEGATIVE INFLUENCE. NOTHING CAN HOLD ME IN BONDAGE. ALL POWER IS MINE TO CONTROL MY THOUGHTS, TO VITALIZE MY BODY, TO EXPERIENCE SUCCESS, AND TO BLESS OTHERS. I AM STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT.”

Healing power of imaging / imagination

Your imagination is among your most creative mind powers. By deliberately directing your imagination toward what you want, you can begin to transform your health as well as every phase of your life. Again and again, your imaging power will gladly lead you into better living, once you invoke it.

The healing power of the imagination is all powerful because to fix your eye on a certain goal shortens the distance to attaining it. The vision hour precedes the vision power. Imagination is the power of conception and what you can conceive, you can achieve! The same power that enables you to image pain, guilt, and failure is constantly at hand to image freedom from pain and a sound body.

So, regardless of what your present life is like, there is hope for increased health, wealth and happiness for you. Get busy immediately, and tap that great and wonderful power of your imaging faculty. You’ll be glad you did, as you affirm often: “I PICTURE ONLY THE BEST FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS. MY EYES ARE SINGLE TO THE GOOD AND MY WHOLE BODY IS FILLED WITH LIGHT.”

Healing rheumatism

An young woman was in need of healing of a severe case of rheumatism in the hands, arms, knees and feet, all of which were badly swollen and caused much pain. Seeking out a spiritual counselor, she was informed that there was no healing power in a bitter, unforgiving state of mind, and that she must transform her mind if she wished to transform her body. To cleanse her mind she decreed: “THE FORGIVING LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST HAS SET ME FREE FROM THE PAST, AND FROM THE RESULTS OF MISTAKES OF THE PAST. THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST JESUS AND THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION IN ME.”

This treatment in enlightenment went on day after day for two months until complete healing had appeared.

To develop wisdom and understanding, simply affirm that you know all you need to know about any situation or personality that confronts you. “I AM SHOWN EXACTLY WHAT TO DO UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES AND IN ALL PLACES. I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO KNOW, WHEN I NEED TO KNOW IT. I AM ABLE TO DO EVERYTHING PERFECTLY NOW.” Also, “I AM ALWAYS EXPRESSING WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING. I MAKE RIGHT DECISIONS QUICKLY.” So often we do not know because we say we don’t know. Reverse the thought. Begin to say that you know what to do, and you will!

When you get an intuitive hunch to do or not to do something, follow through on it quietly and quickly.

A love that encompasses us from birth to death…

The best prayer is to feel the encompassing love of God. He calls us: “I LOVE YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE, WHICH FLOWS OUT FROM THE DEPTH OF ETERNITY. BEFORE YOU WERE BORN, I KNEW YOU. PONDER THE AWESOME MYSTERY OF A LOVE THAT ENCOMPASSES YOU FROM BIRTH TO BEYOND THE GRAVE.

“MODERN MAN HAS LOST THE PERSPECTIVE OF ETERNITY. TO DISTRACT HIMSELF FROM THE GAPING JAWS OF DEATH, HE ENGAGES IN CEASELESS ACTIVITY AND AMUSEMENT. THE PRACTICE OF BEING STILL IN MY PRESENCE IS ALMOST A LOST ART, YET IT IS THIS VERY STILLNESS THAT ENABLES YOU TO EXPERIENCE MY ETERNAL LOVE. YOU NEED THE CERTAINTY OF MY LOVING PRESENCE IN ORDER TO WEATHER THE STORMS OF LIFE.”
