MANILA, Philippines - After several months of assessing the public education system of the city, Rep. Roman Romulo, with the help of the Synergeia Foundation of the Ateneo Graduate School, has finally distributed the workbooks designed to provide the needs and problem areas pointed out during the assessment. Five thousand Grades 1 and 2 students from five schools became beneficiaries of the program.

These are the elementary schools of Maybunga, Oranbo, San Joaquin, Manggahan and the Liberato Damian in Barangay Sta. Cruz.

The target of this program, Romulo bares, is to strengethen the learning foundation of 100 percent of the school children and provide them with enough tools to score a grade of at least 85 percent.

The Pasig representative also distributed lesson plans for teachers including an incentive plan that would financially reward teachers who meet the goal of seeing 100 percent of their class scoring a grade of at least 85.

An assessment of the student beneficiaries would be held at the end of the school year to determine the result of the project.
