PSBank provides assistance to 480 kids under Pulis Ko, Titser Ko program

MANILA, Philippines - PSBank provided educational assistance of 480 Grade 4 students from the CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) area who will study under the Philippine National Police’s Pulis Ko, Titser Ko program.

The program was established by Director for Police Community Relations P/Dir. Leopoldo Bataoil who deployed police personnel as substitute teachers in far-flung and insurgency prone areas in the Ilocos region.

For the CAMANAVA Area, Northern Police District Director PCSupt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr. initiated the program for the benefit of eight heavily populated public schools situated in crime prone areas.

The first batch of students will be taught for 30 minutes every week from September 2009 to March 2010 by eight police personnel who were former teachers, graduates of Bachelor of Education or trained community educators on crime prevention. The subjects that will be discussed are: crime prevention and avoidance, drug awareness, moral and value enhancement, patriotism, nationalism and other related subjects that promote child safety, welfare and development.

During the launch of the program, PSBank EVP Rolando Rodriguez gave the children backpacks containing notebooks, pad paper, ballpen, ruler, crayons. “We’re happy to support this worthwhile program that aims to teach children not only the basic information about the law but also inculcates in them moral values that will help them to become responsible citizens of our country,” Rodriguez said.
