Ateneo Sesquicentennial watch ticks for carillon

-

MANILA, Philippines - Eagles 60/64, alumni of the Ateneo de Manila high school class ’60 and college ’64, came out with a new Ateneo Sesquicentennial watch with the double seal – the original seal of the Ateneo from its founding days in Intramuros with the sea lion and tower, and the present familiar blue-and-white seal with the House of Loyola stripes and the two wolves feeding on the cauldron.

The watch was designed by Banal Pasaiyo, and the limited edition is available at the Loyola Schools Bookstore and with the Ateneo Alumni Association. Proceeds from the sale go to the purchase of six additional bells for the carillon of the Church of the Gesu in Loyola Heights. Eagles 60/64 donated 18 bells on their 40th anniversary (college) in the year 2004. The additional six bells will fine-tune the carillon with the in-between notes. Eagles 60/64 will mark the 50th anniversary of the high school class in 2010.
