Biggest teachers' appreciation event underway

-

MANILA, Philippines - All systems are set for the country’s biggest and most anticipated gathering of teachers on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the SMX Convention Center. Sen. Mar Roxas will give the keynote address.

More than 10,000 teachers are expected to attend this significant event organized by Bato Balani Foundation, with the support of Diwa Learning Systems.

Organizers hope that through this effort, teachers’ image will change from low paid professionals to what they really are — teachers whose acts mold the future of our nation.

Invited top-caliber speakers include Contact Center Association of the Philippines’ president Benedict Hernandez, University of Asia and the Pacific’s senior vice president Dr. Bernardo Villegas and Education Nation convenor Edicio dela Torre.

Last year’s honoree of the Many Faces of the Teacher and Department of Education’s Best Mobile Teacher Jenelyn Baylon will be back on “A Tribute to Teachers” stage, this time to inspire others with the lessons and joys she armed from being a teacher.

Highlighting the event is the recognition of The Many Faces of the Teacher 2009 honorees. Four exemplary teachers will inspire the thousand other teachers who will join this celebration of being a teacher.

A Tribute to Teachers will happen during the 30th Manila International Bookfair, which will run from Sept. 16 to 20 at the SMX Convention Center.
