PSBank supports 49 scholars with P.5 million grant

-

MANILA, Philippines - PSBank, a member of the Metrobank Group, has granted scholarships worth more than P500,000 to 49 underprivileged but deserving students of Chiang Kai Shek College and the Association of Chinese Filipino School in the Philippines (ACFSP) for school year 2009-2010.

Now on its 2nd year, the PSBank Educational Assistance Program is one of the initiatives under PSBank’s Save It Forward program.

A memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed by PSBank president Pascual Garcia III and ACFSP director Monica Fan Ming Ying enables PSBank to support the education of 39 elementary and high school students with a P380,000 grant.

Another MOA signed by PSBank Branch Banking Group head SVP Jose Vicente Alde and Chiang Kai Shek College president Dr. Bee Ching Ong Kian Koc provides for the education of 10 Chiang Kai Shek College students with a P200,000 grant from PSBank.

The scholars were chosen based on their family income, academic standing, and good character. PSBank will also invite the college scholars for practicum and give them priority hiring status.

“The PSBank Educational Assistance Program aims to help less privileged children achieve their dreams in life through the gift of education,” Alde said.

Aside from the scholarship program, PSBank also supports other child-friendly organizations such as World Vision, Resources for the Blind, Operation Smile Philippines and Chosen Children Foundation.
