De La Salle Lipa opens doors to international students

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - In response to De La Salle Lipa’s (DLSL) internationalization agenda, it now maintains strong relationship with 14 universities from nine countries. Since 2008, DLSL president Br. Manuel Pajarillo FSC, has signed memorandums of understanding (MOU) with partner universities from USA, South Korea, Taiwan, France, Indonesia, China, Chile, Japan, and Thailand through the newly established Linkages and International Relations Directorate. The MOU seeks to promote and encourage a fruitful academic cooperation between DLSL and its partner universities through faculty exchange, students exchange, cultural exchange, joint research and publications, joint trainings and other academic related activities.

One of the significant partnerships established by DLSL was the signing of memorandum of understanding with Universidad de Santo Tomas (UST) in Chile which was witnessed by former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos and Philippine Ambassador to Chile, Consuelo Puyat Reyes.

At present, De La Salle Lipa has 79 foreign students enrolled in the Integrated School from 12 countries and 44 students enrolled in the Colleges from 10 countries. Recently, the Colleges hired international faculty from Korea and Africa, thereby giving DLSL students an exposure to international education.
