Adamson U freezes tuition

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - In view of the local and global economic crunch, Adamson University has decided not to increase its tuition fee for School Year 2009-2010.

This is also in response to the call from the Government, the Commission of Higher Education (CHED), and Congress to educational institutions to help ease the burden of Filipinos.

This is the third time that the University is opting not to hike its tuition fee. The first was during the presidency of Fr. Jimmy Belita, CM while the second was in 2005 during the first term of Fr. Gregg Bañaga Jr., CM, the current president.

Another big relief to parents, guardians, and students is the administration’s announcement that even miscellaneous fees will not be raised.

Fr. Bañaga said that “This decision of the management came amidst the fact that in the new school year, we are expected to increase the salaries of employees and apply the summer pay scheme for the first time under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).”
