MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Educational Measurement, Inc. (CEM) recently presented the winners of the CEM Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA). The TEA is a special award that CEM has designed this year to recognize teachers from CEM member schools who have made broad and deep contributions to the development and improvement of student learning.

The winners of the CEM Teaching Excellence Awards are Luzviminda Calzado of Sacred Heart College, Lucena City and Alicia Javier of Sta. Catalina College, Binan, Laguna.

Two teachers received special citations, namely Ronaldo Emiliano, from the University of Baguio and Macaria Villar, from Wesleyan University-Philippines, Cabanatuan City.

Candidates were nominated by their respective schools and evaluated by the TEA board of judges. They were assessed based on their teaching effectiveness and contributions to the teaching mission. Esperanza Buen, CEM VP for operations, led the TEA committee and Fr. Roderick Salazar, SVD, presided over the board of judges composed of experienced and respected educators.
