Assumption relaunches Psychology program
Due to demand from both hiring companies and incoming college freshmen, Assumption College is relaunching the four-year Psychology program under the Marie Eugenie School for Innovative Learning. The program prepares graduates for jobs that require professionals with strong interpersonal skills, insight on human behavior and motivation and leadership and group dynamic skills. The program also integrates training and research experience in both social development and corporate settings.
The four-year degree covers a broad spectrum of topics designed to enable the students to visualize the multiple career possibilities that are open to them in Psychology and related fields. Toward third and fourth year, mentors work closely with each student in steering her program of learning toward her desired career path. In the earlier years, the mentors’ focus is on building in the students a strong foundation in liberal arts and humanities.
Graduates of Assumption’s Psychology department have charted successful career paths in various fields, including human resource, special education (SPED), customer service, counseling, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and foreign service.
