Palace orders class suspension in Metro Manila, provinces

MANILA, Philippines – Classes in all levels, public and private, were suspended in Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon on Monday due to typhoon "Luis."

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa signed an order suspending classes upon the recommendation of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said.

Classes in the following areas were suspended:

  • Aurora
  • Bataan
  • Bulacan
  • CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon)
  • Calamian group of Islands
  • Mindoro provinces
  • National Capital Region
  • Nueva Ecija
  • Pampanga
  • Tarlac
  • Zambales

Typhoon “Luis” is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday morning.
