MANILA, Philippines – Property Company of Friends, Inc. (PRO-FRIENDS), in its 3rd year of participating in the annual "Brigada Eskwela", adopted a school in Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao.

During the first five days of Brigada Eskwela the company donated to the Canitoan Elementary School construction materials such as cement, sand, gravel, wood, paint; clinic items such as cabinet, table, chairs, weighing scales, blood pressure apparatus, a stethoscope, digital thermometers, arm slings, medicines; home economics materials such as a two-burner stove, kitchen utensils, sewing machine and sewing kits; and a water pump with enclosure.

Aside from the donations, PRO-FRIENDS volunteers joined the teachers, parents, students, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the classroom repainting and cleaning inside the school.

The Brigada Eskwela at the Canitoan Elementary School started with a motorcade followed by a short program.

School principal Marjorie Obsioma gave her welcome remarks while Manuel Crisostomo, Senior Vice President for Regional Operations of PRO-FRIENDS gave his talk after Obsioma.

“Our vision is creating communities and transforming lives. And we feel that the best way to transform lives is through our advocacy which is education. That is why, PRO-FRIENDS has always been active in activities relating to education,” said Crisostomo.

Barangay Canitoan chairman Joshua Taboclaon and the school's Teacher’s Club president Marilou Gayla also gave their respective messages during the program.
