ADMU holds 3rd congress on Spanish language in Asia Pacific

MANILA, Philippines - The Third Congress on Spanish as a Foreign Language in the Asia-Pacific Region or CELEAP III (Congreso de Español como Lengua Extranjera en Asia-Pacífico) will be held on Nov. 27–29 in the Ateneo de Manila University.

Organized every two years by the Embassy of Spain and Instituto Cervantes in Manila, this conference aims to discuss the situation of the Spanish Language in this area. The theme of this year’s CELEAP is 'Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language: The Challenge of Merging Business, Institutional and Academic Goals'. With the presence of more than fifty important researchers and specialists in this field as well as representatives of BPOs and international organizations, the conference has become a reference and a meeting point for teachers, Spanish students, and educational managers in the Philippines and surrounding countries like China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

The official opening will take place at the National Museum of the Philippines, Old Senate Session Hall on November 27th at 6:00 PM, to be honoured with the presence of H.E. Jejomar C. Binay, Vice-President of the of the Republic of the Philippines. The working sessions of the conference 

will take place at Ateneo de Manila University on November 28 and 29.
