Banat Opinyon

Ang kooperatiba ug ang ekonomiya

IYO ANTOY - Antolin dela Serna - Banat

Taliwa sa mainit nga kisaw karon sa politika, adunay importante kaayong aspect o incident sa atong kinabuhi nga atong nataligam-an, ug wala panumbalinga … ang kooperatiba. Nga sumala niining karaan nakong clipping (ambot unsa ning tuiga), si Dr. Eulogio Castillo, nga niining panahona mao ang administrator sa Cooperative Authority (CDA), nagkanayon nga “there’s so much room for growth, if only people would recognize the potential of cooperatives.”

Applicable gihapon kini karon. Matud ni Castillo, ang mga member sa micro cooperatives, o ginagmay nga mga kooperatiba, maoy nagsuportar sa atong ekonomiya, “by means of production-farmers, fishermen and agrarian reform beneficiaries,” ug sila giisip nga ‘backbone of society.’

Sa iyang kanhi sinuwat, si Dr. Bernardo M. Vilegas, nag-awhag nga “there should be more cooperatives in the Philippines.”

Hinaut nga kahatagan kini og serious nga attention sa atong kagamhanan, kay gikinahanglan ang collaborative effort ug partnership tali sa mga cooperatives ug sa kagamhanan, sama sa joint program sa Land bank of the Philippines ug CDA, ginganlan og “FIT-Coop, to provide capacity-building support to small cooperatives in unbanked areas, including financial literacy training to help them access formal credit assistance.”

Ug mahitungod sa role sa mga kooperatiba pagpalambo sa atong ekonmiya, ang Google nagkanayon: “Cooperatives boost the Philippine economy by promoting financial inclusion, creating jobs, and fostering local development.”

Financial inclusion nagpasabot nga ang mga macro cooperatives, nag-provide og capital ug financial services ngadto sa micro cooperatives, nga matud pa, ang maong mga micro coops, ‘are denied by formal financial institutions.’

Dugang sa google, “The large-scale coops provide capital to small entrepreneurs, mobilizing savings from members, empowering communities, and circulating money within local areas.

Cooperatives also contribute by encouraging the production and marketing of goods, developing small to medium enterprises (SMEs), and providing training to build members' business skills. They mobilize savings from members, which can be reinvested into the community for production and service delivery.

Moreover, “Cooperatives generate employment, particularly for marginalized groups, and can contribute to the formalization of micro and small enterprises. Cooperatives keep money circulating within the community, often paying out dividends to their members, which stimulates local growth.”

Tan-awa, unsa ka daku sa mahimo sa mga cooperatives pagpalambo sa atong ekonomiya, sa well-being sa individual member ug sa katilingban as a whole.

Of course, matud sa google: “Cooperatives in the Philippines face challenges in limited access to capital, weak business and management skills, and regulatory hurdles. Other issues include lack of member awareness, aging membership, global competition, market access limitations, and the risk of non-compliance with labor laws, which can all impede their growth and long-term sustainability.”

Hinaut nga naka -nterest usab kini kaninyo kining maong topic on cooperatives.

Imagine, medyo problema kita karon sa economy in general, kay politika maoy atong gihatagan og paramount importance, di ba mahimo mo-calm down, o settle down kita makadiyot from politics?
