Sa ato nang gibalik-balik dinhi nga ‘lies travel faster than the truth,’ nga usahay gani, pulos na lang mga lies, mga bakak ang atong madunggan, ug matabonan ang kamatuoran.

Ug niining panahon sa eleksyon, maglibog kita kinsa ang nagsulti sa tinuod, nga kon masayop pagtuo sa dili angayan tuhoan,  makaapektar kini sa ato unyang pagbotar.

Dugang ni Obispo Virgilio: “The truth will set the people free from any harm if they learn to stand by it and if they choose for the truth to triumph in the May 9 polls over any form of deceit and lies. In our time when it’s easy to control public opinion through passing off lies as truth, will we again crucify Christ this coming election?”

Importante kaayo ni.

Kinahanglan ang diktar sa imong konsiyensia maoy paminawon kon kinsa ang angayan botohan, dili ang diktar sa imong amo, dili ang diktar sa mga pangulo sa nagkalainlaing institution sa inyong dapit.

Sa ato pa, akong usbon, ayaw ibasi ang imong pagbotar sa resulta sa mga survey, sa gidaghanon sa manambong sa mga rally, sa mga endorsement, ug sa popularity ug kadaghan sa campaign funds nga ipabaha sa mga kandidato.

Wala mo-endorse si Obispo Virgilio og particular nga kandidato, igo lang siyang nagpahinumdom sa pagka-balaan sa atong katungod pagpili.

Giingon dinhi: “Church people, or servant leaders of the Catholic Church, play an important role and responsibility to the Lord in leading the faithful to elect the right candidate for the sake of the Filipino people and for the sake of the Philippines as a whole. We know that our primary task is to guide our citizens to listen to God’s whisper on how to vote for a follower of Christ.”

Paminaw sa hunghong sa Ginoo. Konsultahi ang imong konsiyensia. Kinahanglan ikaw mismo ang magbuot kinsa imong botaran, dili ang ubang tawo, dili ang media, ug dili ang mga survey. Kay ang isyo karon, ang politika sa atong nasud naglambigit man sa mga butang espiritwual ug moral - “the issue of truth and lies.”

The most fundamental principle defining credible elections is that they must reflect the free expression of the will of the people. To achieve this, elections should be transparent, inclusive, and accountable, and there must be equitable opportunities to compete in the elections.

Kinahanglan nga ang resulta sa eleksyon, mo-reflect gayud sa kabubot-on sa lungsod, dili ang kabubot-on sa mga politiko ug sa mga kandidato.
