A. Literal — Magoi (too generic) kings (incorrect) astrologers (partly correct but confusing because of modern connotations). Sa kinatibuk-an kini nagpasabot og mga maalamon.
B. Cultural World — Magi were a caste of very high ranking political religious advisers to the rulers of the Median and then the Persian empires roughly equivalent to the modern countries of Iran and Iraq. The ancient writers Strabo and Xenophon point out that in Persia the Magi communicated with the high god Ahura Mazdah on behalf of the great king or as they called him the King of Kings. By the fact that they revolted against and replaced the king indicates that they were also an ever-present internal threat for Persia. (John Pilch Cultural World of Jesus Year A.. 16).

1. Ang kinabuhi usa ka tawag. Ang Dios padayong mangita aron makighiusa kanato.
2. Ang Dios naghatag kanato og giya sa atong pagpangita kaniya maingon nga siya nihatag sa bituon aron maoy subayon sa mga maalamon hangtud nga ilang naabtan ang dapit nga nahimutangan sa bata.
Si Jesu-Kristo ang matuod nga kahayag ang maggiya unta kanato sa kanunay.
