Five typhoons coming up!

An American seer says he foresees Manny Pacquiao seeing better days after his fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. That remains to be seen.

* * *

 Marquez continues to dream of settling the score with Manny P. He’s not yet in dreamland, says a Manny fan, but he’ll soon be if he keeps dreaming of a return bout.

 Some 80,000 Catholics joined the “Walk With Jesus” last Thursday morning. This was 10,000 more than last year’s “Walk.” Some who left have returned?

 Pagasa is eyeing five typhoons in the first five months of 2012. That’s putting the Dragon to some test.

* * *

 There’s no telling where the five typhoons would hit. And there’s no telling how strong these typhoons would be. But let it not be said that Pagasa didn’t warn you ... us.

 Most mediamen I talked with on the phone have no objection to PNoy’s visit on Sinulog Day. But they’re hoping the visit won’t push through. This hope is due to foreseen difficulty they would run smack into with the “notorious” Presidential Security Guards manning the gates at the sports center and wherever else PNoy would be during his visit.

 Staunch opposition congressman Edcel Lagman has been reported, nay, rumored, as joining the majority camp. If so, Sir Edcel is telling us: “If you can’t beat PNoy join him.”

 I’m sad to learn that Benson U. Dakay, known as the “Carrageenan King,” has passed away. He was one of the very few bigtime businessmen who called me by my nickname. Benson was only 56 — one more proof of the saying: “The good die young.”

* * *

All the good things about Benson have already been said by people who knew him much better than I do. All I can say I confirm all these praises and ask: “Why did he had to go so early?” God bless you and rest in peace, Benson!
