Cubes over polka dots

CUBIC DESIGN. It has been the practice for generations to wear polka-dotted garments for good luck on New Year’s Day. But there are people in many countries in South America who prefer cubes or cubic designs to polka dots as the New Year comes in. This according to a Peruvian fashionista who said: “We believe that cubes are luckier than dots.”

UNDOTTED DICE. And so on New Year’s Day you see Peruvians wearing dresses and/or shirts printed with cubes like dice without dots. The fashionista said the luck in the cube is in its ability to stand firm wherever it is thrown, unlike any around object which rolls.
