Remember these important October events please!

God is truly powerful! And combined with the great intercession of Mama Mary, whose month we are celebrating this October, we are very happy to pass on the information and invitation to everyone interested to join a dialogue set this Friday, October 7, Mama Mary’s Feast of the Holy Rosary, with Rep. Cutie del Mar and the DPWH at the Asilo de la Milagrosa, St. Catherine Hall at 3 p.m!

This is a wonderful gesture towards unity for Cebu City and for Cebuanos.

The dialogue will certainly start with divergences, with groups not agreeing on views about the flyover projects. It is also possible that even with the dialogue and at the end of the dialogue, the groups may still end up polarized. BUT, the dialogue is a historic step for participative governance in Cebu City.

The dialogue will showcase the attempt of everyone concerned about Cebu City that they will try their best to meet and to UNIFY for the sake of their love for CEBU and the CEBUANOS. The dialogue, we pray, will be a positive step towards understanding and unity!

Also, as we had written in our previous column, the dialogue can be a very informative forum about the specific flyover proposal proposed by DPWH and endorsed by Rep. Raul del Mar and the NEDA. The dialogue can also enlighten the public about how proposals are made and approved and how budgets and funds are appropriated and accounted for.

Hence, we are happy that the DPWH will join Rep. del Mar but we also hope that DBM officials or representatives are also brought to the forum, as mentioned in our previous column, so that they can explain to the public about how public funds are appropriated, what the requirements and processes are for DBM releases and accountability. It would also be good if the NEDA and RDC members can join to clarify their endorsement. A historic opportunity, indeed, for transparent governance

Please pass on the invitation to attend this dialogue to all those who are concerned about Cebu City and the Cebuanos. Let this dialogue be a model for participative governance where the officials and the public respectfully, cordially, share their time and their perspectives about the best for Cebu City and the Cebuanos.

More importantly, we also hope all those who attend the dialogue, and even those who cannot, will always remember to allow God’s will to guide their plans and dreams for Cebu City and the Cebuanos. God’s will be done always!

We pray Cebu Bishop Palma will request everyone to join and pray for the success of this dialogue. Or better still, can he ask all the campanas and church bells to ring out loudly early October 7th dawn to remind everyone to thank and praise the Lord, and Mama Mary of the Holy Rosary too, for this breakthrough, for this dialogue that He made possible for all? Again, can the good Bishop Palma request all the church bells to be heard loud and clear at 6pm to remind everyone, again, to thank and praise the Lord for the 3 pm dialogue this Friday, October 7, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and for God’s will to be done for Cebu?

We hope skype teleconferencing can also be allowed during the dialogue so that those who are abroad can also participate in this historic dialogue or is that too much to ask this time around?

Related to the 3p.m. October 7 dialogue, everyone is also enjoined to start campaigning for attendance in the Dawn Procession at Asilo de la Milagrosa on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 and every Saturday thereafter. Assembly time is 4:00, early dawn, with procession promptly at 4:30. Please text as many people as you can, bring friends along too!

The dawn procession is a testimony and a call for all to “BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER,” in the ultimate power and love of GOD! Even the non-Catholics are enjoined to form their own prayer forces and to pray for a livable city, for God’s will to be done for Cebu and the Cebuanos.

What a wonderful base of faith is unraveling more firmly for Cebu this happy month of October! Tara na, sali na! PADAYON!!!!
