GILAS BOY FAN CRIED. How did you feel when Smart Gilas lost to Korea for the bronze medal? A four year old boy, son of a Freeman friend, who followed the PHL team’s games on TV with much interest (unusual interest for his age) cried a river, so to speak, when Gilas lost in a game that he, the boy, had expected to win.
NOT ALLOWED. The next day, the boy still smarting from the Gilas defeat, told his dad not to allow his Korean business partner to come in if he would come for a visit that day. The Korean came bringing with him a basketball printed with “Smart Gilas Still The Smartest Asian team.” The boy responded to the Korean visitor’s “High Five.” All was well that ended well.
