EVANGELIST. A woman dressed in a long-sleeved white gown that reached her feet was seen at the center of the New Imus Road speaking on a megaphone as if evangelizing on the word of God. A car stopped in front of her and the motorist handed her something (cash, it was learned later). She refused to accept saying: “Nasayop ka, Sir, wa ko magpakilimos.”
SERIOUS INTENTION. The Ear was later told that the woman belonged to a certain religious sect whose members (very few of them) spend their time “evangelizing,” usually at high noon, in different streets of Metro Cebu. “Daghan nagduda nga buang o makalilimos kini sila apan dili diay,” said a taxi driver. “Seryoso sila sa ilang itensyon sa pag-alagad sa Ginoo ... Nagpadayon bisan gikataw-an sa pipila.”
