MEDIA ATTENTION. With the overwhelming number of mediamen who were inhumanely killed in the Maguindanao Massacre, a reader asked, “Ngano daghan man kaayo nikuyog nga taga-media didto?” A mediaman friend replied, “Namasin siguro sila nga kon naay daghan kuyog taga-media, dili sila hilabtan.”
NO RESPECT. The reader replied, “Klaro gyud nga walay respeto sa media. Wala man gani nila respitohi ang mga babaye nga kuyog. Naa man gyud na sa Kor’an nga dili hilabtan ang mga babaye. Mga animal gyud tong nag-massacre nila.”
MEDIA PROTECTION? Another mediaman has another theory as to why there were so many members of the media in the massacre. He said that in times of danger, politicians usually call on the media to document whatever danger they would face. He said that Ninoy Aquino also had mediamen in tow when he knew that he would be shot at the airport. “Si Ninoy bitaw, naa man to’y kuyog mga international media kay kahibalo siya nga naay threat. Sama ra sa nahitabo sa Maguindanao.”
