Cops in CV to learn Korean language

Ate Glo, reports say, was able to get some oil from Libya. Moammar Gadhafi must've assured Ate Glo: "Don't worry, kid. We won't Libya alone."
* * *

That reminds me. A doctor from Libya said he was amused when a patient at the Cebu Doc hospital asked him. "Are you a Lesbian, really?"

A labor leader named Nombrado Asquin wants a salary hike of P200 for the laborers. Don't you think that's Asquin - er, asking - too much?

Thanks to Boy Tisoy of Sanciangco St. for liking my column. I thought only my wife and kids do.

I have no intentions of forming a Mutual Admiration Club between Boy Tisoy and myself. But I also like his comments on current issues in this paper's "Text Views" column. They're like TF's slogan: "Fair and fearless."

Let me now finish what I have started on the US kids' unedited and unexpurgated statements on the Bible. This is the fourth and final installment. Here we go:
* * *

21. The people who followed the Lord were called the 12 decibels.

22. The Epistels were the wives of the Apostles.
* * *

23. One of the Opposums was St. Mathew who was also a taximan.

24. St. Paul cavorted to Christianity, he preached holy acrimony which is another name for marriage.

25. Christians have only one spouse. This is called monotony.
* * *

The above unedited statements were culled from the test papers of the kids in a Catholic elementary school in the US. They were passed on to me by Debbie Duraliza, TF's opinion editor. Thanks again, Deb.

My friend Nido Polancos read aloud the headline that said:

"Cops to learn Korean language." This refers to cops in Central Visayas. And this is apparently aimed at improving Pinoy-Korean relationship.

"By gum!" Nido exclaimed. "This is silly."

"Why silly?" I asked.

"Nganong kita man patun-on og Kinoreano ... nganong di man sila maoy patun-og og Binisaya?" he said.

"Right," I said. "If you're in Rome do what the Romans do, di ba?"

"Right," Nido said. "If you're in the Visayas, speak Korean? Daug-daug na man na."
