Repulsive or impressive? Netizens weigh in on Imee Marcos's magazine cover
MANILA, Philippines - While some commended the "ageless" appearance of the 60-year-old Imee Marcos on the cover of Philippine Tatler, some netizens were not even a bit impressed with the display.
For this month, the social magazine featured the Ilocos Norte governor on their cover. Clad in a blood-red couture gown, Imee can be seen sitting barefoot on a high chair with the words "beautiful, bold, enigmatic" written below.
"Isn't it ironic how she is photographed barefoot given how Imelda has tons of shoes?" one user commented.
The photo was posted on the magazine's Facebook account and it has already gone viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions from netizens.
Gracing the cover of our fashion issue is style icon Governor Imee Marcos, photographed by the wildly talented BJ...

Criticizing the cover, some said the governor does not deserve to be an icon because of what his father, Ferdinand Marcos did.
Making Governor Imee Marcos the cover for the Philippine Tatler is just tasteless. Hello?? Martial Law?? Ring a bell??

I will never understand how Imee Marcos can be an icon of anything except killing a young man for daring to question her. #NeverForget

Tatler magazine puts Imee Marcos, the Plunderer's Daughter, on its cover. High society, low life?

Meanwhile, there were also others who claimed that there's nothing to hate about the cover:
People throwing rocks at Imee Marcos for wearing "blood" on Ph Tatler, when nobody batted an eye on Heart's Esquire "Vote" cover last 2010.

If I know mas maganda pamamalakad ni Ferdinand Marcos kahit di ko siya naabutan base sa kwento ng LOLO ko bakit dinamay pa si Imee Marcos

I see hate all over Imee Marcos. And I'm here, sitting and wondering why.

Some users also lamented the fact that Philippine Tatler was censoring the negative comments by deleting them:
Philippine Tatler has resorted to censoring negative comments on their Imee Marcos cover by deleting user comments on Facebook. Martial Law?

The @philtatler put Imee Marcos in their cover & you can't say anything bad about it, literally, Tatler deletes your comment on their page.

Philippine Tatler disabled comments on their Facebook page but that won't suppress the disgust about Imee Marcos on the cover. @philtatler

The magazine's issue came out after Imee's brother, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, declared that he is running for vice president in the upcoming 2016 elections.
