MVP CAREERFest 2012 opens

MANILA, Philippines – Thousands of jobseekers trooped to SM Megatrade Hall 2 to take part in one of the country’s biggest career events, as The Philippine STAR’s Career Guide held the highly anticipated MVP Group of Companies CAREERFest for the second time.

From Metro Manila to as far as Laguna, Bicol, Ilocos Sur, Samar, South Cotabato and other provinces, hopeful jobseekers tried their luck at this year’s MVP Group of Companies CAREERFest, a two-day event that opened yesterday morning to a very enthusiastic crowd.

After the success of the first MVP CAREERFest last year, wherein thousands of hopefuls got the chance to become a part of one of the many prestigious companies under the wings of the MVP Group, jobseekers now have another chance to take their careers to the next level with countless career opportunities made available in various industries at the job fair.

From openings in finance and audit, administration, logistics and procurement, technical, broadcasting, community relations/public affairs, healthcare, human resources, legal, sales and aftersales, jobseekers now have more chances of landing their dream job in a top MVP company.

Participating companies include Maynilad, Meralco, Metro Pacific Investments, SPi Global, PLDT, Smart, Sun Cellular, TV5, Metro Pacific Tollways, Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, ePLDT, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, iPlus, Cignal, Davao Doctors Hospital, Philex Mining Corp, Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital and PLDT Global.

Apart from job openings that await registrants of the career fest, informative talks on how to enhance their careers were also held throughout the afternoon.

Yesterday’s guest speakers included Juan Miguel Relosa, Meralco head of People Leadership and Development, who talked about “Being Smart, Being Emotionally Intelligent;” Dominic Gerald Gonzaga of the PLDT training office, who spoke on “Managing Personal Finances;” Dan de Padua, TV5 head of broadcast operations, dispensed sound advice on “Establishing a Career in Broadcasting;” and Veronica Gabaldon, Smart Communications senior manager of sales and customer service group, shared her knowledge about how to “Be More Smart.”

For those who missed out on Day 1 of the MVP CAREERFest, today is your chance to land your dream job as the biggest career event of the year continues to welcome applicants from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
