MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Postal Corp. (PhlPost) yesterday started making available to the public four different stamp designs for the London 2012 Olympics.

Elenita San Diego, PhlPost Postage and Philatelic department manager, said that they came out with the special designs to commemorate the international sporting event.

San Diego added that the designs depict four of the major games that would be participated in by Filipino athletes in the Olympic Games in London, namely athletics, swimming, boxing and shooting.

At the bottom of each stamp is the line “Games of the XXX Olympiad London 2012.”

They also carried the logos of the event in London and the Philippine Olympic Commission.

The stamps measure 40 mm by 30 mm and are sold at P7 each.

The PhlPost printed 100,800 pieces which would be sold to the public until July 26, 2013 or as long as supply lasts.

The stamps were designed by Jay Javier Cahilig Jr. and printed by Amstar Co. Inc. using imported unwatermarked paper.
