Saleslady, ex-driver claim lotto winnings

- Perseus Echeminada -

MANILA, Philippines - A 21-year-old saleslady from Sta. Maria, Bulacan and a retired driver from Makati City have claimed their share of the P188-million jackpot of the 6/49 Super Lotto online lottery, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced yesterday.

Conrado Zabella, PCSO assistant manager for online operation, said the saleslady’s father, a carpenter, accompanied her when she claimed last Monday morning her P94-million share of the total pot.

“She just picked a card and randomly selected six numbers which hit the winning combination (28-03-47-49-05-19), it was beginner’s luck,” he said.

That was the second time that the winner played the online lotto game.

The lucky winner intends to put her money in the bank and start her own business.

The retired driver brought along his relatives to the PCSO office when he claimed his P94-million prize.

Zabella said the driver was with his children and grandchildren, even his in-laws when they claimed the prize.

“The retired driver said he will distribute his winnings to his relatives, particularly his grandchildren and reserve a certain amount for his needs,” he said.

The two winners are the latest members of the so-called Super Lotto Millionaires Club.

PCSO does not reveal the identity of the winners for security reasons.

The first winning ticket was sold by Cynthia Ignacio lotto outlet at Marco Bank building at corner P. Herrera and P. Morciall Street in Pateros, while the other ticket was bought from Benigno Ramos outlet in Walter Mart along Bypass Road in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

“Both Super Lotto winning tickets are standard bets and self pick,” Zabella said.

Aside from the two lucky winners, 111 players won P56,000 each after they got five digits of the winning combination.
