It’s a girl for Sharon, Kiko

Sharon Cuneta gave birth to an 8- pound 11-ounce, 20-inch girl by Caesarean section at 4:41 yesterday morning at the Makati Medical Center, two weeks ahead of her original schedule of delivery (Dec. 30).

Eleven hours later, also at Makati Med, action star Victor Neri’s non-showbiz girlfriend also gave birth to a 7.4-pound boy, delivered also by Caesarean section.

Sharon’s baby, her first child by husband Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, will be named Simone Francesca Emmanuelle, a name the couple chose weeks ago when ultrasound tests confirmed that the baby would be a girl. Sharon’s first child (by ex-husband Gabby Concepcion), Kristina Cassandra (KC), is turning 16.

Sharon suffered two miscarriages, once when she and Kiko were in Boston for his scholarship at Harvard and then two years ago when they came home. – Ricky Lo
