MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, Philippines — The bodies of three flooding victims were recovered in Bulacan on Saturday, the provincial disaster risk reduction and management office said.
Bulacan PDRRMO chief Manuel Lukban Jr. said the bodies were those of a 15-year-old boy, a 66-year-old man and an unidentified person.
Lukban said the boy was recovered at Catmon River in Santa Maria town, while that of the man was retrieved along a river in Barangay Sapang Bayan in Calumpit.
The unidentified person was found in Barangay Taliptip in Bulakan town, he added.
As of yesterday, the PDRRMO said 79 villages were still flooded, adding that the waters were due to “backflood” or river overflow and heavy rains.
Lukban said 26 barangays in Calumpit were flooded, with Barangays Meysulao and Gugo as the worst affected.
Twenty barangays in Malolos were under water as of yesterday morning.
Also reported as flooded were 13 villages in Hagonoy, seven in Paombong, four each in Balagtas and Guiguinto, two each in Bocaue and Meycauayan City and one in Bulakan.
Lukban said 1,755 families or 6,089 people are still housed in 65 evacuation centers.
