MANILA, Philippines — The Valenzuela City government distributed yesterday 10 kilos of rice each to 2,645 beneficiaries. The second tranche of rice distribution brought the total number of beneficiaries served to 34,652 people from vulnerable sectors.
The initiative, launched in February, provides four rounds of rice distribution, allowing each beneficiary to receive 40 kilos of rice for four months.
Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gatchalian thanked the national government for partnering with the city in implementing the food assistance program.
