Explain vlogging driver’s booking refusals, Grab told
MANILA, Philippines — Ride-hailing app Grab should explain whether its drivers are allowed to decline bookings, according to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
In a vlog, a driver claiming to be a Grab partner said the company has allowed them to decline bookings, especially if they are not comfortable with a passenger’s destination.
LTFRB Chairman Vigor Mendoza II said a show-cause order would be issued to Grab to identify the vlogger and explain whether partners are allowed to decline bookings.
The vlogger’s claim is false and a violation of rules and regulations, Mendoza said.
“I do not know how and where this driver got that idea. This is wrong and dangerous since it compromises the regulations that govern transport network vehicle services,” Mendoza said.
Refusing to convey passengers is a violation of conditions set in the provisional authority and certificate of public convenience, he pointed out.
