Nearly 5.2 million register for BSKE

MANILA, Philippines — Voter registrants for the Nov. 2 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections reached almost 5.2 million, the Commission on Elections said.
Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco said the voter registration ended yesterday. There will be no extension.
As of May 16, the poll body had processed 5,142,336 voter applicants.
Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) posted the highest number with 838,520 voter registrants, followed by Central Luzon with 574,223 and Metro Manila with 562,879.
Other regions with high number of voter registrants were Bicol with 302,789 and Central Visayas with 298,064.
The Cordillera Administrative Region logged 70,390 voter applicants.
Two other regions with low number of voter registrants were Caraga with 150,212 and Mimaropa, 150,344.
The Comelec processed 11,394 voter applicants under its Special Register Anywhere/Anytime Program at its main office in Intramuros, Manila.
The Comelec reminded voter registrants to check if their applications have been approved by the Election Registration Board after two to three weeks.
