MANILA, Philippines — The filing of certificates of candidacy or COC for district representatives in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will begin today, the Commission on Elections announced.

The Comelec said in an advisory that the COC filing for parliamentary district representatives would run only until May 7.

The filing of the consolidated list of nominees by coalitions is scheduled also from May 5 to 7.

According to the Comelec, May 7 is the deadline of submission of official logos of regional parliamentary political parties or coalitions.

“It is also the deadline of submission of photos of candidates for district representatives and first nominees for sectoral representatives,” the Comelec said, noting that the files can be submitted to [email protected].

Meanwhile, the start of the filing of petitions for accreditation for the purpose of determining the dominant majority regional parliamentary political party, dominant minority regional parliamentary political party and 10 major regional parliamentary political party is on May 8.

The activity will run until May 15.

Earlier, the Comelec said 16 political parties have applied for accreditation, but only 10 applicants were accredited as regional parliamentary political parties.

The BARMM parliamentary election is set for Sept. 14.
