Magnitude 5.4 quake strikes off Cebu; aftershocks likely

MANILA, Philippines —  A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck off the island province of Cebu on Monday, April 6, with its epicenter 17 kilometers east of Bogo City.

State seismologists at Phivolcs reported that the tectonic quake struck at 3:22 p.m. with tremors felt all the way to Leyte. 

Damage and aftershocks are expected, the agency warned.
