145 fake Napolcom FB pages removed

Rainier Allan Ronda, Mark Ernest Villeza - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The National Police Commission has confirmed the removal of 145 unauthorized Facebook pages that fraudulently used the Napolcom’s name, logo and identity.

Some of the accounts had been presented as affiliated examination review centers, misleading examinees and the public.

The Napolcom had filed a request with the police Anti-Cybercrime Group for investigation and coordination with tech giant Meta.

Napolcom Commissioner Rafael Calinisan Jr. welcomed the action.

“The takedown of these 145 fake pages sends a clear message: we will not allow the name and symbols of the Napolcom to be used to deceive, spread misinformation or profit from our applicants,” Calinisan said.
