Alleged American pedophile nabbed in Las Piñas

MANILA, Philippines — An overstaying American accused of taking lewd photos of minors has been apprehended in Las Piñas.

Authorities arrested Donald David Hill, 66, for allegedly possessing a concealed weapon, refusing to comply with shelter rules and taking inappropriate photos of children.

Hill has never applied for a visa extension since he arrived in the Philippines in 2007, an initial record check revealed.

Immigration authorities also arrested South Korean fugitive Kim Miri, 41, on Saturday in Parañaque.

Kim is facing an Interpol red notice for large-scale financial fraud and money laundering in South Korea.

The suspect is accused of stealing over one billion won since 2020 through an investment scam.

Kim has been on the Bureau of Immigration’s blacklist since June 2022.

Hill and Kim will be deported, Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said.

“We will not allow foreign criminals to exploit our country and our people. The BI will continue working with our law enforcement and foreign counterparts to ensure that those hiding from justice are caught and deported,” he said.
