MANILA, Philippines — A security guard drowned yesterday at the La Mesa Dam in Barangay Greater Lagro, Quezon City.

Eduardo Padre, 56, was last seen alive by fellow security guards at around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police probers said one of Padre’s colleagues went looking for him after he did not find the victim manning his post.

After searching for several hours, security guards found Padre’s body submerged in water at the back of the dam’s guest house.

Responders from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council retrieved the victim’s body.

Padre’s corpse was brought to a funeral parlor for safekeeping.

Probers said they are investigating if there was foul play.
