3 dead, 9 injured in truck accidents

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — At least three people died and nine others were injured in separate road accidents involving trucks in Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur and in San Vicente, Palawan.

Police said that a 12-wheel trailer truck, which was transporting a road roller, plunged into a ravine yesterday afternoon.

The truck was negotiating a descent in Barangay Maragang when its brake malfunctioned, police said.

Meanwhile, seven people were injured when the truck they were riding overturned along the highway in San Vicente, Palawan on Sunday.

San Vicente town police and the Palawan Provincial Police Office said the truck was on its way to Barangay New Agutaya to deliver construction materials.
