‘Online contract verification for UAE OFWs starts today’

Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Online verification of employment contracts can now be applied for by overseas Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates, according to the Department of Migrant Workers.

Starting today, the DMW will pilot-test its online contract verification system over the next 30 days.

“This fast, secure and hassle-free system will provide an option for OFWs to apply for contract verification wherever they are and... without having to travel to Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Dubai,” the DMW said.

Developed with the DataFlow Group, the system can be accessed at dmw.dataflowgroup.com.

Workers can opt to have their employment documents verified manually at MWO-Dubai one working day before their flight.

Some 200 applications will be accepted by the system on weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Depending on the availability of evaluators and system capacity, the daily limit may be increased over time.

After three days, workers will obtain their verified contract in the system, as well as their overseas employment certificate at portal.dmw.gov.ph.

After pilot testing, the DMW will evaluate the program to determine feasibility.

Meanwhile, sustained aid for OFWs in Saudi Arabia has been assured by the DMW.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac recently met with the Filipino community in Riyadh, Al Khobar and Jeddah.

He also visited the Bahay Kalinga in Riyadh to check the condition and well-being of hospitalized and distressed OFWs, who were also assured of immediate repatriation.
