Bomb threat hits Malabon university

MANILA, Philippines — Students and staff of the City of Malabon University (CMU) evacuated yesterday due to a bomb threat.
Personnel of the Malabon police and campus security have launched a probe, including a sweep of the university and digital forensics analysis.
“A thorough assessment, conducted in consultation with local law enforcement agencies, indicated that the threat warranted immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on the campus,” CMU president Glen de Leon said.
Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval has condemned the incident, assuring the public that the local government is monitoring the investigation.
Authorities have yet to identify the source of the threat.
School officials received the bomb threat through email at 10 a.m.
