Malacañang declares special holidays in 6 areas

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working holidays in several areas in the country for the celebration of local founding and charter anniversaries as well as festivities.

Proclamation 849 declared May 2 a special non-working day in Bauan, Batangas for the celebration of the Sublian Festival.

May 5 is a non-working day in Santiago as provided under Proclamation 850 for the celebration of its 31st cityhood anniversary.

Santiago is an independent component city in Cagayan Valley.

Proclamation 851 also declared May 5 a non-working day in Kapangan, Benguet for the commemoration of the birth anniversary of former governor Bado Dangwa, the first lieutenant and major of the Philippine Army during World War II.

Meanwhile, Proclamation 852 declared May 8 a holiday in President Roxas, Cotabato to allow residents to celebrate the town’s 58th founding anniversary.

May 9 is a non-working day in San Jose, Negros Oriental as provided under Proclamation 853, which mandates the observance of the town’s charter day.

Malacañang also issued Proclamation 854 declaring May 20 a special non-working day in Uyugan, Batanes for the town’s foundation day.
