Police foil carjacking; nab 2 in Pampanga

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Two carjackers were arrested in San Fernando City, Pampanga after a chase along JASA Road late Friday.
Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Central Luzon police director, identified the suspects by the aliases Reden and Ryan, both residents of Bolinao, Pangasinan.
Investigation showed the suspects took a Land Cruiser at gunpoint from a 21-year-old driver.
A motorcycle rider who witnessed the incident alerted the police stationed at Lazatin Boulevard.
The police, along with a SWAT team, chased and intercepted the suspects who were caught in heavy traffic. Recovered from the carjackers were a sling bag, a .45-caliber pistol and a magazine with nine bullets.
Charges of carnapping, grave threats, serious physical injury and violation of the gun ban are being prepared against Reden and Ryan.
