2 Chinese nabbed for kidnap of compatriots

MANILA, Philippines —  Two Chinese nationals have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping their compatriots in General Trias, Cavite.

The police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said the suspects were collared following a raid on their hideout in Barangay Pasong Camachile on Monday.

CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre said the suspects, identified only as Zhou and Juncheng, kidnapped and detained their compatriots Yuanjie and Yuanhao.

Torre said the raid was based on information provided by a friend of the victims.

Police said they seized from the suspects a pistol and P450,000 in marked money.

Charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention, and violation of the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, were filed against the suspects.
