PCG searches for missing Filipino crewmember

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is conducting a search and rescue mission for a Filipino crewmember of Singaporean vessel RTM Zheng He, who was reported missing while the ship was traversing the waters off Zamboanga City on Dec. 26. 

In its Facebook page, the PCG in Southwestern Mindanao said the search for Aguaviva Gel Jutba, 44, continues as it entertains the possibility of a “man overboard” incident, referring to an emergency that occurs when a crewmember or passenger falls off a ship and into the water.

The PCG said the Zheng He was traveling from China to Australia and was at 111 nautical miles northwest off Zamboanga City when the incident was reported.
