Angat Dam water level up by 2.36 meters
MANILA, Philippines — The water level of Angat Dam has increased by 2.36 meters in the last nine days amid the rains brought by the shear line.
As of 8 a.m. yesterday, the dam’s water level was at 202.75 meters – a 2.36-meter increase from its level of 200.39 meters on Dec. 6.
However, despite the improvement in its water level, the elevation of Angat Dam is still 9.25 meters below the normal high water level of 212 meters.
Patrick Dizon, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System department manager, said the 212-meter target in the dam’s water level is still achievable before the end of 2024.
Angat supplies more than 90 percent of Metro Manila’s potable water needs and provides for the irrigation of 25,000 hectares of farmlands in Bulacan and Pampanga.
