Tricycle driver shot dead at wake in Pangasinan

SAN QUINTIN, Pangasinan, Philippines — A 43-year-old tricycle driver was killed while another was wounded when an unidentified gunman shot them at a wake late Saturday in Barangay Lagasit.

In a report to the Pangasinan police provincial office, investigators said Diomel Galvan was playing mahjong beside construction worker Junel Guanizo at the wake of their neighbor when the gunman opened fire. Galvan died on the spot from a gunshot to the head.

Crime scene investigators recovered five spent shells for a caliber .45 pistol near the scene.

The unidentified suspect fled on foot, the report said.
